Ted Godbout is a pianist, composer, and educator based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He holds a B.A. in Music-Piano Performance from St. John’s University and an M.M. in Jazz Studies from the University of Oregon. The Jax Blake Tricetet consists of Blake Huebl on drums, who has played at Jazz Central Studios with the Lucia Sarmiento Quintet; Jax Ravel on Bass who has also jammed at JCS and Matt Trice on saxophones. Dave Brattain returns to Jazz Central Studios with Dakebreoda for Masters Friday. They will be performing mostly originals with some obscure jazz standards mixed in. Levi Schwartzberg, Drew Stinson, Patrick Adkins, and Ben Ehrlich formed Sound Skirmish early in 2014, looking to explore original music in a vibes quartet setting. The band debuted at Jazz Central Studios, and have since gone on to perform at a number of twin cities venues, including at the 2014 Twin Cities Jazz Fest. The Pete Whitman X-tet was formed in summer of 2001 as recording project for the Twin Cities label Artegra. It was a great luxury to work with Artegra founder Warren Sampson and recording engineer John Scherf. This collaboration resulted in the super audio CD Where’s When? which was released in January of 2002.
