Musical Ecology is a quartet of piano/oration, cello, percussion, flutes/ tenor saxophone. The rhythm section lives in the Twin Cities; Jun Miyake, the flautist hails from New York City.
Imagine lyric free jazz: the right amount of structure and invention, with room for intimacy and expansiveness. Add to this nature stories, musings, vignettes, and you might have Musical Ecology.

Jun Miyake and Todd Harper began their musical friendship in the fall of 2016. Since 2017, Jun has come to Minnesota each year, recording /releasing Cd’s. ( Before Dawn & Trees) Each time Jun comes, the ensemble becomes more cohesive, and exploratory.
