Musical Ecology

June 12, 2019 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm

$10 admission. $5 with student ID. Doors open 15 minutes before music starts.

Musical Ecology is a quartet of piano/oration, cello, percussion, flutes/ tenor saxophone. The rhythm section lives in the Twin Cities; Jun Miyake, the flautist hails from New York City.

Imagine lyric free jazz:  the right amount of structure and invention, with room for intimacy and expansiveness. Add to this nature stories, musings, vignettes, and you might have Musical Ecology.

Musical Ecology is:
Todd Harper: Composer/Piano/Director
Jun Miyake: Flutes, tenor saxophone
Aaron Kerr: Cello/Arranger
Eric Coursen; Percussion

Jun Miyake and Todd Harper began their musical friendship in the fall of 2016. Since 2017, Jun has come to Minnesota each year, recording /releasing Cd’s. ( Before Dawn & Trees)  Each time Jun comes, the ensemble becomes more cohesive, and exploratory.
