The Northwest Midwest Jazz Trio is the merging of Jason Goessl (guitar) and Midwest super stars Adrian Suarez (drums) and Graydon Peterson (bass) for two sets of original tunes by Goessl plus a few tacks by Mingus, Monk, and Ellington.
Jason Goessl, a Wisconsin native began studying guitar at age 9. Jason started playing regular jazz gigs at 16 in the Green Bay area and studied jazz at UW Eau Claire in the mid 90’s. In the late 90’s Jason moved to the Twin Cities where he established himself as a gigging guitarist. In 2001 he moved to Seattle to get a fresh take on life and quickly dove into the various music scenes that the emerald city had to offer. Today Jason plays close to 350 shows a year with various groups ranging from jazz to country to surf to Brazilian to experimental and ambient. Jason ventures on extensive US tours with his duo Sundae + Mr. Goessl, a vintage jazz duo with his wife Kate Voss, which brings him to the midwest for shows in his old stomping grounds.
