Patrick Adkins introduces a new double sax quintet, Renascence Quintet. Featuring some of the most exciting and active young musicians on the Twin Cities scene, Renascence Quintet performs an exciting and emotive mix of original music composed by all members of the ensemble.
Patrick Adkins is a Twin Cities based pianist and composer who was born and raised in the Minneapolis area. Patrick’s rich musical upbringing influences and informs his ever-evolving musical palette, evidenced by the eclectic nature of his compositional repertoire, his pianistic approach and style, and his eagerness and openness to collaboration. Patrick has studied with the likes of Bill Carrothers and Bryan Nichols, and performed with stars of the Twin Cities jazz scene such as Jay Epstein, Brandon Wozniak, Dean Magraw, Chris Bates, and more. Additionally, Patrick co-leads the ensembles SPACE and Sound Skirmish, and appears frequently both as a leader, and as a sideman with numerous groups (Wry Samurai, Will Schmid Quartet, Big Shark).
