Drew Stinson Octet
November 19 @ 8:30 pm - 10:00 pm
$10 general admission, $5 for students with ID & musicians with instruments. Doors open 15 minutes before music starts.
Drew Stinson is a modern bass player out of the Twin Cities. His versatility and extensive understanding of his instrument allows him to work well in a creative setting but also as a sideman in any rhythm section. Drew has a wide array of musical interests and enjoys playing many styles of music. Some of the groups he currently plays with include Chronic Ice Cream, Sound Skirmish, Blues Contraption, Cedric Fuller’s Global Sound, Yesterdawn, and the Julian Manzara Quartet as well as many others. Drew hopes to continue to grow and expand his horizons through his many musical endeavors.
The Drew Stinson Octet is a group of Minnesota musicians that has come together to explore the compositional and improvisatory talents of all involved. While tapping into these talents we hope to present the numerous musical perspectives that each member brings to the table while exploring forms both old and new from members of the ensemble as well as composers of the past. We can’t promise it will be a smooth ride, but we will at the least make things interesting for you. See yah there.
