Fuzzy Math is a Twin Cities-based band that performs regularly around the metro area featuring original eclectic jazz & creative pop covers. They were named to the Best of MN list in 2012 (“best jazz act for people bored with jazz”). Larry Englund of KFAI’s “Rhythm and Grooves” show wrote of their first album release: “Pianist/composer Mark Vandermyde has created a great little CD entitled Fuzzy Math, featuring original, contemporary material that swings quite nicely, with traces of Latin and world music.” Their follow-up CD “Pass the Guacamole” was released in 2015, and they’re preparing to release a third disc this summer. The lineup for their debut performance at Jazz Central will include Haralds Bondaris on drums, Eric Graham on bass, Scott Fultz on saxophone and Curtis Lucky on trumpet. Their goal is to make new music that’s interesting, accessible and fun…serious music that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
