Jazz from the Americas and Beyond (JAMBE)

$10 Admission. $5 with Student ID

JAMBE is a monthly jazz series exploring jazz from the world by local Minneapolis world jazz ensembles.

February features the Chino Latino Jazz Project: a 7 piece latin jazz ensemble. This evening will see Jazz Central Studios turned into a Latin Dance Studio!! All dance studios and latin dancers welcome.

There will be a free salsa dance lesson at the beginning of the evening. Also featured will be a special dance demonstration by professionals of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio.

The Chino Latino Jazz Project (CLJP) is dedicated to presenting latin jazz in the dance styles of salsa, cha-cha-cha, merengue, cumbia, bolero, and rumba/bembe. Following in the traditions of Poncho Sanchez and Tito Puente in a small combo setting, Chino Latino specializes in both sophisticated and danceable arrangements. CLJP is proud to be featured with salsa and latin dance studios such as the Arthur Murray School, and the Dancer’s Studio. CLJP personnel includes an international cast of virtuosos from three continents.
