Monday Night Featured Artist & Jam Session | 8:30 – 11pm

TYLER ANDERSON

$10 admission. $5 with a student ID or musicians with instruments.

Tyler Anderson has been playing the saxophone since 5th grade. At Eagan High School, he played with the jazz ensembles under the direction of Conrad Miska, and also studied with Ruben Haugen. During his college career, he has played in concert and jazz ensembles, including the Wind Symphony and Symphony Band (on clarinet); with Jazz Ensemble I, he had the opportunity to play with guest artists Connie Evingson and Nicholas Payton.

BILL SIMENSON ORCHESTRA

The Bill Simenson Orchestra is a 17 piece big band (5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, guitar, piano, bass, and drums).  The orchestra is available for concert and club performance as well as artistic and educational collaborations.

BERNADETTE BROWNRIGG SPRAY WITH OWEN FINCH

Bernadette is a 17 year old jazz singer from St. Paul who currently attends Roseville Area High School, where she participates in a jazz combo and ensemble. She attended McNally Smith Jazz Camp in 2017, and is excited to participate in a MacPhail Jazz Camp this Summer. She is in The Dakota Jazz Foundation Experience Jazz, where she has performed at Crooners Lounge and The Black Dog. Most recently, she performed with Experience Jazz and Walker West Academy at the Twin Cities Jazz Festival. Bernadette has been awarded Outstanding Jazz Soloist at McNally Smith College, Eau Claire and Stevens Point Jazz Festivals. She has studied jazz vocals at MacPhail for the past 3 years.

The Chino Latino Jazz Project (CLJP) is dedicated to presenting latin jazz in the dance styles of salsa, cha-cha-cha, merengue, cumbia, bolero, and rumba/bembe. Following in the traditions of Poncho Sanchez and Tito Puente in a small combo setting, Chino Latino specializes in both sophisticated and danceable arrangements. CLJP is proud to be featured with salsa and latin dance studios such as the Arthur Murray School, and the Dancer’s Studio. CLJP personnel includes an international cast of virtuosos from three continents.
