The Tyler Lustek Confluence presents Shmehara: The Poet’s Journey through War and Peace

Join us at Jazz Central Studios on Friday, October 11th, as the Tyler Lustek Confluence joins forces with poet and interdisciplinary artist Andi Kopek in a captivating performance of Tyler’s original compositions based on Andi’s poetry!

Jazz pianist & educator Tyler Lustek has composed a suite of music to complement seven poems from Andi’s recent debut poetry publication, Shmehara, which has earned several literary awards and international film festival accolades. This show will be recorded LIVE, to be released as the debut record of the Tyler Lustek Confluence.

Tyler & Andi are joined by Aaron Hedenstrom (saxophones), Jan Hora (trumpet), Jeremy Boettcher (bass), and Jack Schabert (drums). A portion of proceeds from the sale of Andi’s book are donated to help Ukrainian children overcome war trauma.
